Charity Boat Pull
We held a charity boat pull on Friday 25th June in aid of the Starlight children’s charity (brightening the lives of seriously and terminally ill children). The boat pull was in aid of Jack Smith, who had tumour in his right arm removed in December and has been receiving chemotherapy treatment since. Jack is finishing his treatment this month and through the Starlight ‘My Wish and Me’ initiative, Jack has wished for a boating holiday. The purpose of the boat pull was to raise money for Jack’s holiday.
The boat was pulled from Tattenhall Marina to the IWA’s Tom Rolt festival at Tower Wharf in Chester. Over 20 people took part, led by a pantomime horse and dame! Lots of money was raised and we celebrated the day’s success with a well-earned BBQ back at the marina on Friday night.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in the boat pull and those who gave money towards Jack’s holiday along the way.
